According to the Reuters report, they want to draw the attention of the customers by increasing their view time and making customers enthusiastic to subscribe to the streaming platform under the budget. Therefore, they have added a feature of playing a short clip once they hover in the box.

Netflix TV app came up with an improvisation idea to help its users. Research, it is found that users used to go from the top corner to the bottom corner to find or search exactly what they wanted, it is said that during this activity they used to perform “eye gymnastics”. Thus, to make it’s the TV app user simpler, easier, and easier to navigate, they came up with this revamping plan.

Revamp on the Netflix TV App

The new interface is designed in such a way that if you over any show inside the box, a short clip will be played. Besides, it will also pop up the show’s release date alongside its genre, and the episodes available. This helps any kind of user to grasp the brief information within a certain time without making these eyes and minds do more exercise.

Apart from all these, they are also concerned about the sidebar menus where they plan to put options Search bar, Home, Shows, Movies, and My Netflix so that the user can easily relocate and figure out their need.  The tab “My Netflix” has been seen in the mobile app since last year, which displays all the activities that you perform on the streaming services.

  • Content focus: The new design aims to put more emphasis on the content itself. This is achieved by displaying information boxes that expand when a user hovers over them, rather than having a separate menu for navigation.
  • My Netflix: The new interface is also said to include a new tab called “My Netflix”. This is likely to be a central hub for users to access their watchlist, continue watching items, and other personalized features.
  • Top bar navigation: Netflix is testing a new top bar menu that includes tabs for Home, Shows, Movies, and Search. This would replace the current left-side navigation menu.

The new Netflix interface aims for a wider audience with a focus on clarity and ease of use. Bigger screens and unfamiliar users are especially catered to with a simpler layout and larger visuals. Content discovery is a priority with clear summaries and potentially even sneak peeks through hover boxes. Finally, Netflix will be looking for user feedback to further refine the design. Overall, the changes seem to be focused on making the Netflix TV app easier to use and navigate. This could be especially helpful for users with large TVs who find it difficult to reach the far corners of the screen.

It is said that this revamp will be tested among a few users first, and after getting some feedback, they will improvise it and make the changes live among its approximately 270 million users.

Let’s welcome these changes that the giant streaming has been doing for its customers. We are excited to enjoy the Revamp of the interface.
